Seachem Cupramine is a buffered active copper solution designed to address external parasites in both freshwater and saltwater aquarium environments. This specialized formula is developed to be effective at low concentrations while remaining less toxic to fish compared to traditional copper chloride or sulfate treatments.

The amine-buffered copper stays in solution longer and does not contaminate filter beds, allowing for a controlled and measurable treatment process that is safer for your aquatic inhabitants.

Key Ingredients

  • Amine-buffered Copper - helps manage external parasites while maintaining lower toxicity levels

How to Use

  1. Remove all invertebrates from the aquarium as they are highly sensitive to copper.
  2. Turn off UV sterilizers, ozone filters, and remove chemical filtration like carbon or Purigen.
  3. On day one, add 20 drops (1 ml) per 40 liters (10.5 US gallons) of water. Wait 48 hours, then repeat the dose.
  4. For freshwater aquariums, use half the indicated dose.
  5. Maintain the treatment concentration for 14 days to ensure the full parasite life cycle is addressed.
  6. After treatment, remove the copper using activated carbon or a specialized copper-absorbent filter media.
  • Suitable for both freshwater and marine aquarium environments
  • Amine-buffered formula provides lower toxicity for fish
  • Remains active in solution without clogging filter beds
  • Easily measurable with standard copper test kits
  • Effective at low concentrations for safer dosing
